Plot

Set against the backdrop of the late 1960s, Zhao Di, heavily pregnant and marginalized as her husband's second wife, faces rejection from her in-laws and returns to her own family. After giving birth to twins, Shun Fatt and Su-mei, Zhao Di wrestles with societal superstitions when Su-mei's two facial moles are deemed unlucky.
