Plot

In his seventies, Alvin Straight, a widowed farmer, receives distressing news about his estranged brother Lyle, who has had a stroke and is in critical condition. Motivated to reconcile with Lyle before it's too late, Alvin faces a challenge: Lyle resides in Wisconsin, while Alvin is confined to Iowa without a vehicle or a valid driver's license. Undeterred, he devises a plan to embark on an extraordinary journey using his trusty old lawnmower. This unconventional trip evolves into a beautiful and often profound adventure.
