Plot
In 1880s China, Lalu is sold by her destitute father, expecting marriage but instead finds herself in an Idaho mining town. Here, a saloon owner rebrands her as China Polly, intending to exploit her for the entertainment of the townsfolk. Defiant against this fate, Lalu resists becoming a mere object of desire. As she navigates a new and hostile world dominated by white settlers, she embarks on a journey of self-discovery, seeking independence and a life defined by her own choices rather than the confines of societal expectations.
