Plot
Elderly couple Shukishi and Tomi embark on a long trip from their quaint seaside village to visit their grown children in bustling Tokyo. However, their son Koichi, a busy doctor, and daughter Shige, a hairdresser, struggle to find time for their parents. As the couple feels the distance from their children, Noriko, the widow of their deceased son, steps in to provide companionship and support. Through her kindness, the family’s underlying tensions and the realities of aging come to light, revealing the emotional complexities of familial bonds.
