Plot

Two wandering brothers, Meng Kang and Tieh, yearn for fame and fortune, leading them to join a rebellion against a corrupt provincial general. Previously reliant on petty thievery and gambling, they are drawn in by a charismatic rebel leader who offers them a chance at glory. Their audacious plan involves stealing a substantial shipment of new rifles destined for the local army. With assistance from an officer's daughter, their scheme begins successfully but soon spirals into a poignant and heroic conclusion, challenging their aspirations and loyalty in the face of inevitable tragedy.
