Regina Jonas, the world's first female rabbi, is brought to life by Rachel Weisz, whose father, George Weisz, serves as executive producer for this poignant documentary. Born to an Orthodox Jewish peddler, Jonas was ordained in Berlin in 1935 and became a beacon of hope for persecuted Jews during the Nazi regime. Her powerful sermons and unwavering commitment inspired many amidst the horrors of war. Tragically, Regina was murdered in Auschwitz in 1944. The film poignantly features her only surviving photograph, capturing the strength and confidence of this remarkable woman.
