Plot

Following the departure of bassist Jason Newsted in 2001, the iconic heavy metal band Metallica recognizes the necessity for an intervention. This candid documentary captures the journey of the three remaining members as they enlist a group therapist to address decades of suppressed rage and tension. Amidst the search for a new bassist and the creation of a fresh album, the band members confront their inner struggles, ultimately discovering the importance of vulnerability and communication in their relationships and artistry.
