Plot

Set against the backdrop of the Balkan Wars, Sonia, a resilient young woman in Montenegro, struggles to maintain her family farm and care for her younger brother, Milos, after their older brother Marko is sent to fight. Following Marko’s tragic death, Sonia receives unexpected assistance from Mahmud Hassan, a captured Turkish nobleman turned prisoner of war. Initially cold towards each other, their relationship blossoms into romance as they confront the relentless challenges of war. Together with Milos, they navigate a harrowing journey toward hope and survival amidst the chaos surrounding them.
