Following a traumatic incident in Igloolik, an Inuit community in Nunavut, Uyarak decides to leave her family and home behind for life in Montréal. When the Covid-19 lockdowns isolate the Canadian Arctic from the outside world, Uyarak finds herself cut off from her dearest friend and older sister, Saqpinak. This intense circumstance intertwines the fictional narratives of the sisters with the real-life experiences of the film’s directors, Lucy Tulugarjuk and Carol Kunnuk, who portray the siblings.
