Plot
Set against the backdrop of World War II, the gripping tale follows the crew of the MV San Demetrio, who bravely return to their burning tanker after it’s attacked by the German cruiser Admiral Scheer. Abandoned and on the verge of destruction, the ship still stands. When a lifeboat drifts back to the vessel, the crew discovers it hasn’t exploded. Motivated by courage, they board the San Demetrio, extinguish the flames, and restart the engine, embarking on a perilous journey to reach Britain against overwhelming odds.
