Plot
In "Dear Frankie," nine-year-old Frankie and his mother Lizzie have been constantly relocating to escape their troubled past. They settle in a picturesque Scottish coastal town where Lizzie shields her deaf son from the reality that they’ve fled from his father. To maintain the illusion, she crafts letters from Frankie’s imaginary father aboard the HMS Accra, sharing tales of far-off places. As the ship nears its arrival in their town, Lizzie faces a dilemma: reveal the truth to Frankie or find a stranger to impersonate his father for a single day, ensuring a magical moment for her son.
