Plot
This historical drama follows the rise of Lady Kasuga no Tsubone, who founded the 'Ooku' (the women's quarters at Edo Castle) and served as the nursemaid to Tokugawa Iemitsu, the future third Shogun. As intrigue and distrust swirl, brothers Iemitsu and Tadanaga compete for the Shogun title. Meanwhile, remnants of the defeated Toyotomi faction, led by Lord Ishida Mitsunari, plot to undermine the Tokugawa Shogunate and reclaim their power. The hidden rivalries among Shogun Hidetada's wife and the Ooku mistresses come to the forefront, pushing the brothers into a deadly confrontation.
