Plot

Green, portrayed by Bret Harrison, is a talented young special-effects makeup artist yearning to break free from his stifling Southern hometown. Despite his aspirations to make it in Hollywood, he faces significant obstacles, including an abusive stepfather and a hostile group of religious fanatics intent on sabotaging his passion. Complicating matters further is his love for a girl who finds comfort in their small-town life. As Green navigates these personal demons, he must decide whether to pursue his dreams or succumb to the pressures surrounding him.
