Plot

Les Patterson, a boozy and bumbling Australian diplomat, finds himself at the UN where an embarrassing mishap leads to the explosive demise of an Arab ambassador. Sent to the Middle East as punishment, he inadvertently becomes a pawn in a coup, which saves his skin. While drowning his sorrows at a bar, he encounters a bio-weapons scientist who has created a lethal virus intended for the KGB's nefarious plans against the Pentagon. In a haze of drunken confusion, Patterson teams up with the flamboyant Dame Edna to foil the plot and, hilariously, save the world.
