Plot

Gordon Laid, a soldier fresh from World War II, crosses paths with Maxine Lupercal, an actress from a touring theater company, during their journey back to England. Due to Gordon's striking resemblance to one of the actors, he unwittingly finds himself tangled in a web of murder and international espionage involving a mysterious cigarette lighter that disrupts electricity. As the plot thickens, the chaos culminates in a hilarious showdown on stage, where Gordon, his doppelgänger, spies, and law enforcement all converge in a frantic effort to reclaim the elusive lighter.
