Plot
Barry Levinson's semi-autobiographical tale navigates the lives of the Kurtzman family, a Jewish household in 1950s Baltimore. As high school senior Ben grapples with his feelings for Sylvia, a black classmate, their romance sparks cultural tensions in a segregated society. Simultaneously, Ben's brother Van, now in college, becomes enchanted by an enigmatic woman, adding another layer to the family's dynamics.
