Plot

After completing his medical studies, a young Scottish physician named Nicholas Garrigan craves excitement and sets off for Uganda. He arrives amidst the political turmoil surrounding President Obote's collapse. As the tides of power shift, General Idi Amin ascends to the presidency and invites Garrigan to serve as his personal physician, thrusting him into a turbulent and dangerous new world.
