Plot
Judith Wilkes, a reporter, departs Sydney, leaving her husband and children behind to investigate the plight of Vietnamese boat people in Malaysia. While there, she develops a romantic relationship with Kanan and forms a bond with Lady Minou Hobday, who vigilantly awaits her own children at Turtle Beach, where refugees attempt to land. One night, Judith witnesses a horrifying massacre by Malaysian forces alongside Minou, igniting her determination to reveal the grim realities of the internment camps at Bidong and advocate for the refugees' plight.
