Plot
Valerie Carr, a London magazine editor, navigates the challenges of raising her two daughters, seventeen-year-old Jan and thirteen-year-old Poppet. When Jan attends a glamorous party at the Savoy, she becomes enamored with charismatic Tony Ward, a Bentley-driving jive enthusiast rumored to be wealthy. Overwhelmed by his allure, Jan dismisses the affections of Mark, a devoted farmer. However, as the truth about Tony’s questionable background begins to surface, it becomes clear to everyone—except Jan—that her infatuation could lead her down a perilous path of delinquency and risk.
