Plot
Set against the backdrop of the Great Depression, the Kamp family faces immense challenges following the death of Mrs. Kamp nearly a year prior. The older siblings strive to support their family, but it’s the youngest, particularly Hopalong Cassidy admirer Norman and candid Ruthie, who feel the impact most acutely. With their father burdened by medical expenses from Norman’s polio treatment, a gift-less Christmas seems inevitable. However, when William manages to collect a dollar in coins for presents, hope is rekindled, leading to unexpected holiday transformations for the family.
