The Nest (1980)

Plot

In a quaint town near Salamanca, a 60-year-old widower named Alejandro finds himself enchanted by the spirited 13-year-old Goyita, daughter of a timid policeman and his overbearing wife. Despite the gossip surrounding their friendship, Alejandro, who leads a solitary life filled with music and chess, enjoys Goyita's company during their walks and horseback rides. As their bond deepens, Alejandro confides in the local priest about feeling truly alive for the first time. However, Goyita's growing expectations challenge Alejandro to navigate the complexities of this unconventional yet innocent connection while remaining true to his principles.
