Plot
Oscar François de Jarjayes defies convention, raised as a boy by her father who longed for a son. As captain of the royal guards at Versailles, she serves King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, enjoying a life of privilege. However, her sheltered existence shatters when she confronts the harsh realities faced by the impoverished citizens of France. As the French Revolution ignites, Oscar grapples with her loyalties and the growing conflict between her duty and her burgeoning love, forcing her to make impossible choices that could alter her fate and the course of history.
