Deadly Swarm (2003)

Plot

Desperate to save his ailing wife, scientist Dr. Schroeder (McCormack) ventures into a perilous Guatemalan jungle, capturing thousands of lethal wasps. With covert military support, he believes the wasp venom holds revolutionary medicinal properties. However, chaos ensues when their smuggling attempt goes awry, leading to a truck crash that liberates the wasps into the unsuspecting local community. As the creatures begin to lay eggs in their victims, American entomologist Daniel Lang and inquisitive writer Sandra Kern must race against time to contain the escalating threat before the swarm multiplies uncontrollably.
