Episode Overview

Meredith comes to the realization that she has to shoulder greater responsibilities when informed that her mother needs to transfer all her assets to her. As Izzie plans a surprise party for her boyfriend Hank, the scale of which Meredith is unaware of, Meredith undertakes her first heart surgery. During the procedure, she worries that she might have dozed off and harmed the patient's heart. Meanwhile, Cristina and Burke start to connect on a deeper level. At the party, Meredith and Derek find themselves discovered together by Dr. Bailey.
