Izzie encourages George to muster the courage to ask Meredith out. The interns are stunned when a woman arrives with an unprecedented tumor, but her condition is so severe that her outlook is grim. With Bailey aware of Meredith and Derek's affair, their careers are on the line, and she urges Meredith to put an end to it. At the same time, Cristina and Burke's clandestine relationship begins to unravel, adding more complexity to their situation.
