In 2007, Dallas, Texas, Darell Billingslea was arrested for the violent murder of twenty-two-year-old Jessica Lewalling, driven by jealousy. A two-time convicted murderer on parole, Billingslea faced fierce prosecution from Jennifer Bennett, who was determined to ensure he faced justice. Meanwhile, in February of the same year, thirty-six-year-old Antoine “Tony” Hamilton was discovered shot dead in an abandoned house. His friend Carlos Mitchell admitted to the killing, leading prosecutor Jenni Morse to believe she had an easy case. However, a surprising verdict in a similar trial left her unsure about securing a conviction.
