Episode Overview
In the 1860s, Doug and Tony find themselves in Gettysburg, but an explosion separates them. Tony awakens, disoriented and suffering from amnesia. Doug aligns himself with the Union army, while Tony accidentally gets entangled with the Confederates and Sergeant Maddox, who mistakes him for a messenger sent to procure gunpowder from the rogue merchant, Michaels. Doug discovers that the merchant is none other than Machiavelli, whose actions reflect Tony’s own. As the Time Tunnel sends Machiavelli's dog back to save Doug, the amnesiac Tony captures Doug and hands him over to Maddox. Amid the chaos, Doug escapes and attempts to save Tony, who is resolute in completing his task. Machiavelli murders Maddox, prompting a confrontation between Doug and Tony as Doug tries to destroy the gunpowder, leading to an uneasy alliance just as Machiavelli makes his move.
