Grand Tours of Scotland's Lochs (2017)
S04E03 Across the Moors
Episode Overview
As Paul departs from Kinlochleven, a village once dubbed the electric village for its ties to aluminium smelting, he stumbles upon a neglected German prisoner of war camp from World War I hidden in the nearby woods. Venturing along an old military road, he ascends into the hills and reaches the imposing Blackwater dam, a striking tribute to the last of the navvies. After paying his respects at the graves of those who perished during its construction, he crosses desolate moorland to a secluded bothy. Later, at Corrour, the UK’s highest and most remote station, he unexpectedly finds himself in luxury. Following a disastrous attempt at clay pigeon shooting at Corrour Lodge, Paul embarks on a lengthy trek to Loch Laggan, where he’s taken to an island known for its legendary feasting customs.
