Charlotte receives a request from her friend who manages a nursing home to assist in selling some items, prompting her to enlist Lovejoy for his expertise in appraisals. One resident, Virginia, claims to possess an extremely rare bureau. However, chaos ensues when someone makes an attempt on Lovejoy's life. As Charlotte notices the assailant's striking resemblance to a deceased poet, they start to piece together the motive behind the attacks. Meanwhile, Tinker and Beth are dispatched to London to uncover the truth.
