Episode Overview

At the ceremony honoring the Specially Administrated Zone, Lelouch and Euphemia share a private conversation about the future of Japan. Euphemia manages to sway Lelouch, leading him to pause his rebellion. However, in a moment of levity, he jokingly suggests she eliminate all the Japanese, causing him to lose control of his Geass. Under its influence, Euphemia commands a brutal massacre of the ceremony's attendees. Overcome with guilt, Lelouch resolves to rectify the chaos by labeling Euphemia's zone a trap meant to draw out the Black Knights. He instructs his forces to confront the Britannian troops, safeguard the Japanese, and stop Euphemia.
