Episode Overview

When a young girl is discovered drowned in her aunt's fountain just before a grand masquerade ball, suspicion quickly falls on Phryne's cousins and Aunt Prudence's entire household. Teaming up with her aunt, Phryne delves into the mystery, but soon begins to question her own detective abilities. She wonders if Murdoch Foyle truly caused her sister’s demise or if the culprit is someone much closer to her—someone present the day Janey vanished from the circus years ago. As Foyle reveals his intentions, Phryne regains her confidence, only to be engulfed by fear when she realizes he might now be targeting Jane.
