Pingu (1986)

Episode Overview

Pingu and Mother visit Pinga at the hospital, where they encounter a doctor tending to another penguin who was seriously injured in a truck accident. When they reach Pinga’s room, she’s delighted to see them, and Pingu proudly shows her a drawing of her mishap. A nurse comes in to care for Pingi, who is in the adjacent bed, and sets up a screen between them. Mother gifts Pinga some flowers, and both siblings enjoy an apple together. Bored, Pingu starts gliding around on a wheeled stool. He notices shadows cast on the screen by the nurse and Pingi, so he cleverly rearranges the screen and sets up a makeshift stage. With the light on, Pingu comically pretends to be a surgeon operating, bringing joy and laughter to Pinga, Mother, and Pingi.
