Episode Overview

Pingu is peacefully asleep when Mother and Pinga wake him with a cheerful rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Excitedly, he hops out of bed and heads to the kitchen, where a large present awaits him. Eager to unwrap it, he’s told by Mother to wait until noon. After she and Pinga leave, Pingu sits by the door, pretending to read a book, but once they’re gone, he rushes to inspect the parcel. As he examines it from different angles, he accidentally bumps his head while crouching under the table, knocking over a vase in the process. Water spills everywhere, so he puts the parcel on the stove to dry and cleans up the mess. However, when he retrieves the parcel from the hot stove, he drops it. After cooling his hands, he notices the parcel is damaged and decides to drill a hole to peek inside. Hearing Mother and Pinga return, he quickly hides the drill and steps outside.
