Pingu (1986)

Episode Overview

At school, Pingu's class is unexpectedly given the afternoon off. Excited, he suggests playing together, but everyone decides to head home instead. When Pingu arrives home, he finds Mother busy mopping the floor and offers to help, but he’s not interested. She then suggests assisting with the laundry or chopping wood, but Pingu declines those tasks as well and heads outside on his sledge. While out, he playfully covers a signpost with snow and passes by his friends; Pingg is busy with firewood, Pingo is helping his grandfather at the fish stall, and Pingi is pushing a sledge of vegetables with her mother. After tossing a stone into a pool, he lies down to rest and observes a Mother Bird delivering a fish to her chicks. This reminds him of his own responsibilities. Inspired, he rushes home, shakes the signpost to clear the snow, and surprises Mother by cleaning the floor himself. She beams at his thoughtful gesture.
