Episode Overview

Following Douglas's burial, Angela attempts to keep Emma drugged to prevent her from taking the stand. With Chase's attorney poised to argue that Jason's death was suspicious, Angela's control over Falcon Crest hangs in the balance. During the coroner’s inquest, the District Attorney presents a circumstantial case, but Philip counters it effectively when Emma is initially silent. However, defying her mother's wishes, Emma escapes from Falcon Crest and testifies, revealing she accidentally pushed Jason during a struggle with Turner Bates. The jury concludes Jason "died at the hands of another," granting Chase ownership of Falcon Crest, though he generously offers Angela half of the vineyard. Reluctantly, she accepts. Meanwhile, Angela learns of another threat: Douglas's illegitimate son, Richard Channing, who has claimed fifty percent of The Globe.
