Melissa feels relieved when Richard arranges for a neo-natal specialist to fly in from Europe, ensuring her baby's survival. Meanwhile, Maggie heads to Los Angeles to pitch her screenplay to producer Darryl Clayton, but he ultimately rejects it. In a covert meeting, Angela offers to finance the film if Darryl keeps Maggie distracted in the city. As Vickie Gioberti embarks on a romance with her father's associate, Nick Hogan, she learns from Cole that he is already married. Chase uncovers Angela's scheme to use Falcon Crest's funds to acquire shares in The New Globe, and after confiding in Nick about his conflict with her, Richard confronts Angela. As Joseph's health improves, Cole commits to being a devoted father, while Richard secures a house in Tuscany Valley.
