In a desperate bid, Michael races to prevent Dr. Lantry from performing surgery on Chase, which risks leaving him permanently paralyzed. Meanwhile, Angela pushes for a court date to declare Chase legally incompetent to oversee Falcon Crest. As Chase undergoes physical therapy, he starts to regain feeling in his legs. During the hearing, just when the judge seems poised to side with Angela, Chase makes a surprising entrance on crutches, leading to the dismissal of her petition. Julia is found not criminally insane but becomes a target for harassment from fellow inmates. At the Gioberti household, Maggie persuades Michael to accept a hospital staff position, only to be stunned when he reveals he is the executor of Jacqueline's estate.
