Episode Overview
As Julia faces sentencing for two murders, Melissa pushes her toward the gas chamber. Just before the judge delivers the verdict, Julia declares she would prefer death over a life in prison. In a surprising turn, the judge sentences her to life imprisonment instead. Meanwhile, Michael Ranson confronts Dr. Lantry with allegations of malpractice; Lantry warns Angela that he will expose her if she doesn't intervene. Richard Channing schemes with Emma to entice Maggie into writing for his newspaper, while he simultaneously delays the reading of Jacqueline's will to undermine Chase. Philip returns the original contract to Melissa, which Angela had coerced her into signing, jeopardizing the Agretti harvest.
