As the end approaches, the roommates worry they've fallen short at the After School Program and decide to step up their efforts at the center. Kameelah recruits Elka and Genesis to help paint the main room, while Syrus continues running his basketball program. Sean shows Aldo how to operate a radio-controlled airplane, and Jason encourages the kids to start journaling. Anthony also asks Elka to direct a play for the children to showcase on Parent's Night. Meanwhile, at Shelter Inc., Montana partners with City Salon to provide free haircuts to the women there. Back home, tensions rise between Montana and both Kameelah and Elka. Montana believes the bond between Elka and Kameelah is insincere, a claim Elka dismisses. When Kameelah overhears Montana's harsh comments during a confessional, she confronts her. Later, when Elka inquires about being labeled a "Drama Queen from Brownsville," Kameelah points the finger at Montana, who
