Episode Overview
Even though Irene is feeling unwell, the production for Dead Air continues. During a meeting, her fatigue becomes overwhelming, prompting her to leave. The other girls try to grasp the situation, but some of Irene's remarks leave them puzzled. Rebecca feels hurt by Irene's assertion that no one is supporting her. The girls sense that Irene has built a barrier around herself, even though they genuinely want to help. Irene reflects, "Being sick really shows you who your true friends are." When she tries to call her family, she finds Stephen on the line, leading to a heated exchange. Later, he confronts her and insults her, which she attributes to her medication. Stephen and Nate discuss her illness and its impact on her mental state. Meanwhile, Irene confides in Rebecca, breaking down in tears. The next day, when Irene tries to clear the air with Stephen, the conversation takes a turn for the worse as he lashes out again.
