Episode Overview

The police officer overseeing the recruit training doubts Shirley's ability to handle the assault course, thinking she’s too frail. Determined to prove him wrong, Laverne steps in to help Shirley prepare. Meanwhile, Laverne's boyfriend, a policeman, is gathering women for the newly formed L.A.M.P. (Ladies' Auxiliary Milwaukee Police), and she’s chosen to join. Shirley, eager to participate, convinces Laverne to let her join as well, despite Laverne's hesitations. However, Shirley struggles right away, failing at the first challenge—a water obstacle—and runs off, drenched. Later, Laverne finds her at the Pizzabowl, where Shirley expresses her desire to quit. Upset, Laverne calls her a cream puff and leaves. Back at their apartment, Shirley apologizes and asks for Laverne's help to get fit. They train together, and on the day of the test, Shirley successfully completes all the obstacles
