Episode Overview
In their investigation, Stivers and Falsone uncover a man shot dead in his bed, showing no evidence of a struggle. Gee pushes Barnfather to grant them more influence over their FBI liaison to avoid past issues like those encountered in the Janine McBride case. Barnfather informs Gee about an upcoming Captain's position for which he should be considered without any strings attached. Meanwhile, Lewis takes Ballard along on a bar stabbing case, where she challenges his reluctance to work with a female partner after the Sheppard incident. Although she assists with the initial investigation, Lewis ultimately tackles the case solo. Meanwhile, Ballard's partner Gharty takes a "mental health day" at the Waterfront Bar, where he drinks and proposes to Billie Lou. Stivers and Falsone learn that the victim recently had a tumultuous breakup with his ex-wife, Eleanor Burke, who eventually confesses to the crime.
