Episode Overview

Emmet Carey has taken his two children hostage in his sister-in-law's apartment, demanding to communicate solely with reporter MGee, while occasionally engaging with officer Gharty on the scene. When Emmet's wife arrives and manages to bypass security, her frantic cries trigger a violent reaction from him, resulting in her tragic death as he fires out the window. As negotiations unfold, MGee carefully conceals the devastating news from Emmet. The standoff comes to a climax when Emmet ultimately frees his stepdaughter, but makes a heartbreaking decision that endangers both himself and his son.
