Episode Overview

Under Cromwell's increasingly ruthless and contentious rule, fear grips the land as factions and betrayal run rampant, yet he establishes a monarchy in everything but name. Lillburne finds himself sentenced to life imprisonment without trial. Meanwhile, Sexby steps down from his colonel position due to his war-injured hand. As schemes unravel, numerous lives are lost, including that of Joliffe. In the end, Angelica remains, the sole survivor, left with only Sexby’s daughter, born after his death, to keep her company.
