A garage known for repainting stolen cars bursts into flames, trapping a man inside. Meanwhile, Kate, running late after a doctor’s appointment, misses the fire crew racing to the scene. During the chaos, George accidentally yanks a tangled hose, leading to a shelf collapsing on Kevin; he’s rescued, but the trapped man suffers a tragic fate. Sicknote visits Cynthia at home, while Helen vents about Malcolm prioritizing the brigade. Kelly secretly wishes George would take her home, but her mother scolds her and tells George to leave. Zoe is upset that Colin hasn’t discussed moving out with his mom. Ultimately, both Colin and George are forgiven. Sicknote and Cynthia rehearse together and share a passionate kiss. After Kate refuses to contact Ian, her flatmate Mary intervenes, leading to an unwelcome surprise for Kate when she finds Ian on her couch, aware of her pregnancy. Bayleaf receives a postcard from Melanie, who has been taken to Spain by her mother.
