Episode Overview

Blue Watch is in for a surprise when their new Sub Officer, Carole Webb, turns out to be a woman. Billy immediately takes a disliking to her, leading to some playful bickering. The crew is soon called to a health club where several women are trapped in the sauna. Carole instructs Billy to crawl through the ventilation system to unlock the door from within, and the trapped women are quite smitten with him. Meanwhile, Recall becomes the spokesperson for Blackwall’s firefighters, while Laura expresses her feelings of inadequacy, threatening divorce. We also meet Carole’s husband Gerry, a disabled former firefighter struggling with her career. Sicknote helps Maggie and Derek rehearse for "Macbeth," and Jean urges Maggie to pursue her divorce and a relationship with Derek. Cyril and a shady character named Elkins pitch a health club business idea to George. Pearce doubts Carole's active duty experience and considers transferring to Sub Officer himself.
