Episode Overview

Wayne makes his return to work following the shooting, and the Boss advises the team to treat him as they normally would, acknowledging that he might be a bit on edge. Nell surprises Wayne with a cake for morning tea, and the Heelers gather to sing a cheerful tune for him. Mrs. Stewart arrives at the station with her daughter's diary, which contains troubling mentions of drug use. She accuses a young man named Damian Parker of leading her daughter astray. Maggie and Wayne head to the school to pick up Kim for questioning about the diary entries. As Wayne grapples with flashbacks from the shooting, he notices an abandoned blue car. He approaches it, instructing a young woman inside to exit and place her hands on the bonnet. Nick arrives soon after, expressing concern that Wayne frightened the woman and her child, especially with his weapon drawn.
