Episode Overview

The aftermath of the explosion leaves the Mt. Thomas police station in shambles. Senior Constable Joanna Parish and Clancy Freeman have lost their lives, while Grace Croydon is unaccounted for. As Tom recuperates in the hospital, PJ, Ben, Susie, and Jonesy settle into their new police station, where they are unexpectedly joined by Nick Schultz, now a Detective Sergeant in Homicide, tasked with probing the incident. Additionally, Sergeant Mark Jacobs arrives, initially for a temporary assignment, but Inspector Falcon-Price has other plans, eyeing him as a permanent replacement for Tom upon his retirement. Jacobs, an ambitious and self-assured intellectual in his 40s, quickly asserts his authority. PJ and Nick interrogate 'Rocket' Turnbull, Tom’s old war buddy, who insists he had no means to acquire such explosives, a sentiment echoed by Tom. Meanwhile, Cal Millic, the father who had previously threatened Jo, looms in the background.
