Joss devises another get-rich-quick idea and gets hooked on gambling after a pickpocket victim he and Kelly assist shares a winning tip with him. Meanwhile, Jonesy investigates a series of assaults happening at the racetrack. Tensions rise between Alex and Matt when Alex decides to overlook a shoplifting incident involving a businessman, while Matt insists on following the rules. Convinced the shoplifter has bigger plans, Matt even takes it upon himself to investigate on his day off. After his surgery, Tom struggles to accept support from his caring friends during his recovery.
