Episode Overview
Having departed from the police force and Mt. Thomas, Adam leaves behind a new recruit, Probationary Constable Jack Lawson, who arrives only to quickly find himself in hot water. Though Jack's minor infractions are soon overlooked thanks to his likable demeanor, which wins over Maggie and Dash, Tom also sees the potential in him as he eagerly tackles even the simplest tasks. However, Jack's warm reception is soon overshadowed by a report of a sexual assault at a nearby retirement home. When Maggie and Dash investigate, they learn the alleged victim is in the early stages of Alzheimer's, insisting her attacker is the devil. Unwilling to dismiss her claims, Maggie and Dash dig deeper, uncovering a plastic mask at the local video store that may hold the key. Eager for action, Jack is ready to prove himself, but PJ and Ben have other plans, sending him off on a wild goose chase.
